Windows Hello IR Camera Not Working – Slimbook Pro X 14 AMD (Ryzen 7 4800H)

Hello everyone,

I’m having an issue with Windows Hello on my Slimbook Pro X 14 AMD (Ryzen 7 4800H) and I’m hoping someone from Slimbook or the community can help.

Problem Description

  • Windows detects the IR camera in BIOS with no errors.
  • In Windows Device Manager, when I click to update it the IR camera appears as USB Video Device.
  • Under Biometric Devices, I see Facial Recognition (Windows Hello) Software Device.
  • When I try to set up Windows Hello Face, the setup window opens but stays completely blank.
  • The IR LED never turns on during setup.
  • Reinstalling Windows, updating drivers, and resetting Windows Hello did not fix the issue.
